Summer comes to an end

So because I have been such a bad blogger lately, I am just going to do a "summer wrap-up" post in an effort to catch up!

Here is what I have been up to over the last few weeks.....

Mike and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary at The Melting Pot in Providence. It was my first experience with fondue, and boy was it delicious!

We have been going for walks around sunset, and I have captured a lot of beautiful photos.

 The little princess herself, McKenna.

We spent a couple weekends relaxing down the Cape, but not enough! The summer feels like it flew by!

Smiles on the last day of work :)

The best friends I took away from that place.

 Summer colors.

All dressed up for a wedding in NY.

 Hammock naps and cannonballs.

A trip to the zoo with McKenna.

 This mug.

Gets me every time.

Hope you all had a great summer as well! I am looking forward to the fall and the new school year. :)

Amanda's Bridal Shower

My friend Amanda is getting married in about 6 weeks! Her bridal shower was the weekend of Hurricane Irene. Her man of honor, Jeffrey, put together a beautiful spread of drinks and goodies for her Garden Party (his mom has beautiful gardens that we took a tour through- thank God the rain held off) It wasn't the best day to be outside, unfortunately, so we had the shower inside. I am just happy that the bad weather held off long enough for us to celebrate. And celebrate we did!

It was a great day! Love this girl!

McKenna Peach's Christening Party

My niece's christening party was at the beginning of August. We celebrated at Colleen's (McKenna's Mommy) family's home in Narragansett, RI. It was an overcast day, but there was plenty of room inside and out for all of our guests. There were lots of yummy foods and drink to go around! It was a really nice day to celebrate McKenna.

FOLK ON! (image heavy)

Hello friends! I have been a terrible blogger lately - summer has been so busy! But now that the new school year has started (the beginning of a new year in most teacher's minds) I will get into a better schedule and hopefully blog much more! So let's play catchup from some of my summer adventures!

My favorite weekend this summer had to be our weekend in Newport at the Newport Folk Festival. Mike and I drove down on Friday night and stayed in a little bed an breakfast, the Las Palmas Inn, walking distance to the heart of town.  We enjoyed lobster and margaritas on Friday night at the Barking Crab, and got a good nights sleep for the weekend ahead. It was a beautiful weekend full of: sunshine, music, so many different people, art, crafts, boats, and lots of water (it was a scorcher!)

All of the bands were amazing, but I am going to list the ones we had the chance to see and really enjoyed.
Saturday: Gogol Bordello, Gillian Welch, Tegan and Sara, the Felice Brothers, Delta Spirit and The Decemberists.
Sunday: David Wax Museum, Justin Townes Earle, Mountain Man, Brown Bird, Chris Thile and Michael Daves, Secret Sisters, Trampled by Turtles, and the Head and the Heart.

I recommend checking these bands out!
Some photos from the weekend....

I am already looking forward to this weekend next summer!
