A weekend wonderful

Hello! I just wanted to share a little weekend recap... it was rainy here in Boston, but we made the best of it, and it turned out to be productive, and relaxing!

 Thursday night I met Mom and lil McKenna at Nicky's the little diner in town that my sisters waitress at. She came dressed in the cutest outfit and was smiling and taking in everything around her! Her little hat was so cute, it reads "Wild at heart". Little nugget.

 Friday night my lovely grad school advisor, Chris, held a party at her house for my class. We are graduating Friday, so you can imagine how excited we all are! She had delicious apps and lots of wine! We played flip cup (haven't played since college!), which Chris kept calling "flipped cups"... I love it. It was a fun time with friends!

 Saturday Mike & I spent the whole day packing up our apartment. We made a pretty good dent in our stuff... but we have sooo much more to go! 

We made some turkey tacos for dinner - ground turkey seasoned with cajun spices and paprika, arugula, tomato, guacamole, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and hot sauce in flour tortillas.... yummy!

 This morning I met up with Angela and Lauren at Cafenation, my favorite cafe located in Brighton Center. I got a soy caramel latte and an everything bagel with cream cheese and lox. We spent the morning (into the early afternoon) chatting and catching up. Love my girls!

 This was too hilarious and cute not to take a picture. These dogs sat and waited for their owner while he ordered a coffee. He told them to "wait outside", so that's just what they did - sat at the doorway and showed off their cuteness. Can I add that they are not on leashes? What good pups!

Local artists post their art on the walls of the cafe. I love looking at all of the different stuff they have... it changes every week!

BFF Birthday!

Yesterday was one of my best friends (Amanda)'s 27th birthday! We went to Sunset Grill in Allston for yummy drinks and apps.  I brought along noisemakers, a birthday headpiece, birthday hats for everyone and a fun gift!  I purchased some pottery to support local artists in Cambridge as a gift for Amanda for her birthday. They were little vase/creamers/decorations... this is the best way I can describe them. Needless to say, she loved them! (which I knew she would, because they were screaming "Amandaaaa" off the shelf. No, really. 

What a great night with friends. Love them.

Mother's Day

I love my mama!  Today for Mother's Day, we went to brunch at Wanamoisett Country Club in Rumford, RI.  Of course we celebrated my mama, and it was Colleen's (my sister-in-law-to-be) 1st Mother's Day! Brunch was yummy... I had a mushroom, onion, tomato and cheese omelet and some cinnamon french toast! We had a nice little day, and came home and cuddled on the couch and watched a movie.

I love my mom more than words can say. She is my very best friend, and I cannot imagine my life without her. She has always been there for me, and pushed me to be the best version of myself I can be. She is strong, smart, compassionate, and beyond loving...  When I was a little girl I always dreamed of growing up and becoming a mommy. There was no one more perfect in my eyes than my mother, and I remember always wanting to be just like her. There still isn't... and I only hope that I can be just as good a mom as she is. <3

Cinco de Mayo!

So I had no intention of celebrating Cinco de Mayo until my best friend Ang decided we should! I had errands to run after work, so she said let's do them together and then get dinner/margaritas... so that's just what we did! It was fun!

 The weather was crazy all day: Dark and gloomy, then super sunny, then rainy... that's New England for you! But, alas... a rainbow! :)

Then we hit up the Porter Square Bookstore for some baby books for our friend's baby shower. I sat on the floor with books all around me, looking through some of my old favorites. I ended up getting...

Random night turned out to be fun and productive!

One of my very best friends is getting MARRIED! ....and today, my bridesmaid dress came in the mail from J.Crew!!  Her colors are graphite grey and pale yellow... look how pretty it is! I cannot wait, I am so happy for her!
